A: Being organized is a critical part of being a professional organizer. A good professional organizer is able to transfer those organizing skills onto clients and create customized organizing solutions for a variety of clients and situations.
Q. Can I have a full-time career as a professional organizer?
A: The public’s awareness of professional organizers continues to increase and therefore the demand for organizers is rising. As with any small business, the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.
Q: How do professional organizers help people?
A: By designing custom organizing systems and teaching organizing skills, a professional organizer helps individuals and businesses take control of their surroundings, their time, their paper piles, and their lives.
Q. Is there a college degree for professional organizing?
A: There is currently no degree for professional organizing. NAPO provides continuing education through the annual conference, regional seminars and teleclasses. NAPO currently has a task force working with colleges across the country to create a degree program. You can also check with your local community college to see if they offer classes.
Several professional organizers offer coaching, training and mentoring, including what forms to use and how to create important processes.

A: NAPO-NC offers chapter meetings to provide a well-rounded perspective of the industry as a whole in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. You are welcome to visit a NAPO-NC chapter meeting. We meet the third Thursday of every other month in Chapel Hill.
